Warnings: Raine is a widower who hasn't fully grieved the loss of their husband in most threads. While it's not likely to come up under usual threads, Soulmates/Red String of Fate threads may bring the topic of suicidal ideation more readily to the fore. The character also suffers from depression and body dysphoria as a result of not only the loss of their beloved, but also the loss of their original strength and stamina.
Personality: Fairly sociable and attention-seeking, Raine often has moments of instinctive petulant behavior when things don't quite go to plan. Like a cat who knocks over a water bottle from the desk (which is also something that, sometimes, they feel they must do,) Raine is not above ruining someone else's day for ruining theirs and mouthing off in passive-aggression.
Due to Raine's cat heritage, they like to curl up in warm spots and sleep in shifted form, just waiting for passers-by to pet them so they can mooch off of that good will. Raine is very clean regardless of shape, and likes every hair and fabric in its rightful place on their body. They are both meticulous and detail-oriented, not wanting to miss catches over the big picture.
Their surface-level social behavior leaves them lonely and longing for genuine bonds, but knowing that doing so will only leave them open to heartbreak.
When opening up, they have a decidedly soft-hearted core that's prone to insecurities - particularly in regards to their genitals having "a shape that is not nearly as cute as my face, and unbecoming of my stature."

History: Raine was born to a vampiress and a werecat, and raised in a warm and loving home. Their father died when they were around 40 years old with the physical age and mentality of a 15-year-old. And with no desire to remain surrounded by visages and smells that reminded them of their dad, they left home.
Some time later, they met and fell in love with a human named Robert - a fisherman pearl enthusiast. He gifted Raine a small black pearl and asked them out, but some years later fell in love with another and respectfully asked to separate from Raine. Raine granted it and was present at the doting couple's wedding, but also funerals, having barely aged a day since then.
About a century later, Raine met the pirate Finley - a slightly burly, often-grinning young man with aspirations of a comfortable and happy life. Deceived by Raine's youthful looks, he asserted that he'd be happy to wait to date until Raine was older, much to the dhampir's protests.
A few years later, and Raine had not changed, leaving Finley to be particularly sheepish for not believing them. In spite of not finding every aspect of Raine's heritage to be appealing (a concept that would stick with them ever since they dated Robert, who had, at the time, confessed similar feelings of distaste,) they eventually married, and the two also busied their days with building their dream home/library, going fishing together, and sailing.
Eventually, having never received permission to turn Finley into a creature of the night like themself, they buried him by the sea they lived close to, and held onto Finley's wedding ring to keep it safe from graverobbers.
After everything settled down, they went to bed, and simply didn't wake up for a millennia.
With the world changed to modern times in that span, it's been a learning curve, but thankfully, Raine's scholarly habits come in handy.
It's still much easier to sleep around and beg on the streets as a cat for what they want, though.

Their dick is also rather big, in stark contrast to their small frame. It's large enough to make someone's belly bulge, if that's a kink you're into. In terms of reference, Raine is not able to completely wrap their hand around it - and even using both is just barely enough.

The cats have a pseudo-sentience based off of Raine's own emotional, bodily, and mental cues. Raine can create many kitten-sized shadow cats or a few (no more than 5) larger ones, or one very large one. They all share senses with each other and Raine, able to carry objects and come and go between the shadows. These cats are distinctly black and only semi-corporeal, able to be gently petted but no firmer. Their eyes are often wide and moonlight-white.
Supernatural speed - Raine has the capability to run significantly faster than the average human; this includes turning sharply and stopping on a dime, especially in werecat form where they have pawpads to better grip the ground with.
Supernatural endurance - Raine can endure physical blows that could kill someone without much harm coming to them, as well as being able to keep up physically taxing tasks for some time. Still, surprise attacks can still severely wound them. And this does nothing for their running/activity endurance.
Supernatural strength - most objects can be accidentally broken by them if they act carelessly.
Supernatural hearing - Raine can hear even quiet sounds upwards to a radius of 500 meters / 1/5th of a mile away
Supernatural sense of smell - Although perhaps not as discerning as a dog's, Raine can particularly catch the scent of blood for a great distance, but not if it's been washed away. Other scents are also easy to catch.

-Left the Crab Isles after Robert's and his spouse's death, came to what would later be known as Vesuvia.
-Has lived in Vesuvia in a 2-story house (library) near the Ash Docks. It's heavily warded to keep intruders out.
-Fell asleep after their husband: Finley's, death, and then kept sleeping during the Red Plague. Was somehow spared its effects.
-Wanders around the place in search of scraps in cat form all the time.
-Sometimes wanders in human form to exchange sex for food or money.
